2022-03-08 FCDCC Meeting Notes

About 30 FCDCC members met online using ZOOM software. Please login between 6:00pm and 6:30pm. The social part of the meeting starts at 6:00pm, and the business part of the meeting starts at 6:30pm. Paul will email meeting invitations for the monthly club meetings and the monthly coffee meetings to all club members. If you haven't received your invitation by the day of the meeting, please send an email to info@fcdcc.com, and either Paul or I (Mike Barry) will send you the meeting ID and password.

If you ever have any problems getting into a club ZOOM meeting, please email me at info@fcdcc.com. I try to monitor the club's email account during the monthly meetings and will help you get into the meeting if you have any problems.

Pay your dues for 2022 to Dave Chamness (3854 Braidwood Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80524) if you haven't already paid. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. You can now pay your dues ONLINE with PayPal!!!

Collected dues are down, but our expenses are down even more so our club is doing well financially.

We will continue to hold our club meetings on ZOOM until further notice due to the uncertainty of the COVID pandemic.

John Fielder will speak to our club at the May meeting. John is Colorado's Premier Photographer. If you are unfamiliar with his work you should check out his website: https://www.johnfielder.com

Please contact George Theodore gtheodore@comcast.net if you are interested in joining the Photography 101 SIG. This SIG is for beginning photographers that want personal help learning basic photography skills. Susan and Kevin have already expressed an interest in the SIG.

Spring is coming... Sandhill cranes have been sighted/heard above Fort Collins migrating north, great blue herons have been seen on their nests, we had temperatures in the 60's and now it is snowing again and 16'F.

Paul will present the results of the March Macro Project (Things found in your kitchen) when he recovers. I am sure that he would appreciate your email get well wishes, his email address is PJMarx@aol.com

We have a new April Macro Project (Water drops). Refer to Paul's email for details.

We have decided to allow only paid up club members to post ads for their photography businesses on our Facebook page. If you are a member and you have a photography business, tell us about it in a post to the club's Facebook page. Please limit youself to at most 1 promotional post per week for now. If ads become a problem we may change our minds in the future, but for now tell us what you do.

When you hear about interesting upcoming events, please email Mike Barry (info@FCDCC.com) and give him details so they can be listed on the website.

We have decided to only add photos taken by our members to the website.

Send your photograph submittals (corrected fix-it-photos, club outings, challenge topics, old and new, or your favorite images) (up to 8 images) to Jim Limburg at jlimburg1@gmail.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send them by Sunday evening so Jim has time to create the slideshow.

Please add captions to the pictures that you submit for the monthly slideshow, and clearly note which picture they pertain to, by stating the filename if possible.
