2021-04-13 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met online using ZOOM software. Please login between 6:00pm and 6:30pm. The social part of the meeting starts at 6:00pm, and the business part of the meeting starts at 6:30pm. Paul will email meeting invitations for the monthly club meetings and the monthly coffee meetings to all club members. If you haven't received your invitation by the day of the meeting, please send an email to info@fcdcc.com, and either Paul or I (Mike Barry) will send you the meeting ID and password.

We had about 22 club members and no visitors at the meeting.

Pay your dues for 2021 to Dave Chamness (3854 Braidwood Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80524) at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. You can now pay your dues ONLINE with PayPal!!!

Some of the SIG meetings and outings are being held on ZOOM, but many of them are on hold until the COVID-19 Pandemic is over.

Fine Art Photography - Mike Barry
- Tue 04/20 at 6pm, We will be discussing use of textures, overlays and borders in Photoshop and constructive criticism of current work when requested. We will be meeting using ZOOM. Contact Mike Barry if you wish to attend the meeting.

Macro - Paul Marcoux
- The Macro SIG will continue to make still life photographs in their own homes and present them during the member submission slideshow at the May meeting. Paul Marcoux is planning a May outing to Long's Gardens in Boulder. Contact Paul Marcoux if you wish to participate in the Macro SIG.

Send your photograph submittals (corrected fix-it-photos, club outings, challenge topics, old and new, or your favorite images) (up to 8 images) to Walter Lyons at walyons@frii.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We are working on adding videos to the slideshow, but we haven't figured out how to do that yet.

SPECIAL SPEAKER FOR OUR JULY MEETING

David duChemin will give his "The Heart of the Photograph" presentation to our club at our regular July club meeting.

David's "calling is to help photographers make photographs that light a spark in people, that communicate clearly, that captivate imaginations and grab the attention and hearts of the people who will see them".

He is a photographer, workshop leader, book author, creative instigator and stand-up comedian.

The Heart of the Photograph is a 90 minutes long with some time for Q&A. During the presentation David will explore 10 powerful ideas about creating more engaging photographs...
- techniques and ways of thinking about creating images
- how to engage human imagination and emotion
- vision and intent
- use of space and time
- creation of depth
- use of point of view
- mood, mystery and storytelling
- creative use of exposure tools, composition...

Everyone who attends his presentation will be given 2 FREE eBooks, and the presentation will be recorded and made available for club members to watch later.

David has reserved July 13 for us, but we still have to work out some of the logistics...
