2020-07-14 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met online using ZOOM software. Please login before 6:30pm when the official meeting starts. The social part of the meeting runs from 6:00pm to 6:30pm. Paul will email meeting invitations for the monthly club meetings and the monthly coffee meetings to all club members. If you haven't received your invitation by the day of the meeting, please send an email to info@fcdcc.com, and either Paul or I (Mike Barry) will send you the meeting ID and password.

Pay your dues for 2020 to Dave Chamness at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. Ask Dave for his address and the current amount of dues so you can send him a check in the mail. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

Our club finances are looking good, we have $3100 in the treasury and we are not paying rent while we hold our meetings online.

Some of the SIG meetings and outings are being held on ZOOM, but many of them are on hold until the Stay at Home order is cancelled.

If you want to participate, send up to 6 images of Colorado Birds with descriptions to Jim Sayre before 7/21.
Images should be about 3MB filesize.

RMNP Photographic Extravaganza project
Club members will go to RMNP by themselves (social distancing), shoot scenery pictures on Fall River Road and at Chasm Falls, and takie pictures of the comet Neowise and elk and the Galactic core from Trail Ridge Road.
Let Ken (keneis@comcast.net) know if your are planning on going and when you are done.
Ken will setup a Zoom meeting for the participants to discuss their images, questions, and post processing.

Send your photograph submittals (corrected fix-it-photos, club outings, challenge topics, old and new, or your favorite images) (up to 8 images) to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We are working on adding videos to the slideshow, but we haven't figured out how to do that yet.

August meeting challenge topics: "Self Portraits" and "Silhouettes".

Please send images (Fix-It-Photos) that you would like everyone to try "Fixing" to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com.

If you don't already have a headshot on the website, please send one to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com.

Many thanks to Bethany Baker for her "Being a Photographer for the Coloradoan" presentation.

Please check out our club Facebook page by searching on Facebook for "Fort Collins Digital Camera Club". You are welcome to post fix-it or challenge topic or anything that you want on our Facebook page. I would like to see more pictures from our SIG outings on Facebook.

Email Mike, info@fcdcc.com, when you find mistakes, missing information or if you have suggestions for the website and I will try to address the issues.
