2020-01-14 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in the Eagle 1 room at the Aztlan Center, 112 E Willow Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524

Please welcome Richard, Allilster, Dave, Bridgette, Jim, Jean, Lara, Katie and Mike who were visiting our club.

Please pay your dues for 2020 to Dave Chamness at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

Dave summarized our club's financial status:
$1542 dues were collected in 2019
$1883 in our club checking account today
Some club members were concerned that we are not collecting enough in dues to pay for our expenses and we should consider raising dues next year (in 2021).

Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

Ralph recommended a Night Sky Facebook group for any members interested in shooting at night.

Ralph Smith is arranging a night shoot near Truth or Consequences N.M. to photograph Mexican free-tailed bats. The guide can take up to 5 photographers and the cost is $150. Please contact Ralph if you are interested.

Guy reported that several eagles have been hanging out at the pond near Kechter and Lady Moon Dr. Many fish have died over the winter and become available to the eagles when the pond thaws.
