2019-08-13 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in the Eagle 1 room at the Aztlan Center, 112 E Willow Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524

Please welcome Heather, Jim, Joan and Marlon who were visiting our club.

We need a President Elect for the remainder of this year and to become president for next year. We may delegate some of the President's responsibilities to volunteers to reduce the amount of work required from the president. Please contact Monique Renee if you are interested in becoming FCDCC President for 2020.

Please pay your dues for 2019 to Dave Chamness at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

The Post Processing SIG has been doing some mentoring. Contact one of the leaders if you would like help with post processing.

Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

Sun 8/4 @3pm-sunset Portrait Shoot at The Rock Gardens on north College. Theme is Beauty & Fine Art.

Tue 8/13 @7:00pm - FCDCC August meeting at the Aztlan Center

Thu 8/15 @8am - Macro SIG outing to the CSU Trial Gardens for Flower Photography. Meet at the Gazebo in the Gardens at NW corner of Lake Street and Remington Street. The wind was uncooperative for our July 20th Macro photo-shoot at the CSU Trial Gardens so I thought we would try this location again. I visited the gardens earlier this week and the annual are now in full bloom and there are many interesting flowers in the perennial beds. Since the light becomes harsh around 10:00 am, this would be a good time to wrap up the photo-shoot and head over to the Wild Boar Cafe for coffee and food. - Smiles, Paul Marcoux

Wed 8/21 @9:00am - June Coffee Meeting at the Fort Collins Coffee House

Sun 9/1 - Wildlife SIG outing to Cameron Pass to photograph moose.

Tue 9/3@6:30pm - Video SIG meeting at Judy's house

Sun 9/25 @1pm - Conceptual SIG planning for next shoot meeting at Kai's house.

Send your photograph submittals (corrected fix-it-photos, club outings, challenge topics, or your favorite images) to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow.

September meeting challenge topics: "Hot" and "Chillin' Out".

Send your pictures to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com
Please send ideas for challenge topics to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com

Please send images (Fix-It-Photos) that you would like everyone to try "Fixing" to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com. The September Fix-It-Photo is "Masonville Rock Shelf" by Kai Frawg and you can find it on the website.

If you don't already have a headshot on the website, please send one to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com.

Please thank Ken and Margaret Reek for their presentation on "Southern Africa Safari".

Please check out our club Facebook page by searching on Facebook for "Fort Collins Digital Camera Club". You are welcome to post fix-it or challenge topic or anything that you want on our Facebook page. I would like to see more pictures from our SIG outings on Facebook.
