2019-04-09 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in the Eagle 1 room at the Aztlan Center, 112 E Willow Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524

Please welcome Holly who was visiting our club.

Please pay your dues for 2019 to Dave Chamness at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

We had two presentations this month. Please thank AnneMarie Fusell for her presentation on the Wildlands Restoration Volunteers. They would like volunteers to photograph their projects. If you are intersted, please contact her at annemarie@wlrv.org (970) 493-2075. Please give a special thank you to Sarah Lindsay for her presentation on "Interacting and Communicating with Your Client". She used to model for our club and has created her own portrait photography business, Sarah Lindsay Photography.

Dawn Wilson will give the May club presentation on "Wildlife Photography".

Monique has the old club projector, and it is available for club members to borrow.

Fort Collins is competing in the "City Nature Challenge". You can help by taking pictures of local wildlife and posting them with the app.

Please check out our club Facebook page by searching on Facebook for "Fort Collins Digital Camera Club". You are welcome to post fix-it or challenge topic or anything that you want on our Facebook page.

We still need a President Elect. If you are interested please contact Monique.

The April club outing is our Annual Club Portrait/Model Shoot on Saturday 4/27 from 9am to 5pm at the Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Loveland. See more details on our club website at: https://fcdcc.com/2019/2019-04-27-model-shoot/club-model-shoot.html If you are interested in photographing people, learning about equipment or learning how to work with models, you should come to this shoot. We will have 10-20 models and 10-20 photographers who are glad to show you what they do. Please email Mike Barry if you are coming, and tell me if you will be bringing equipment or not, I would like to have an estimate of attendees. This event is open to all FCDCC club members and any models that would like to participate. We are always looking for new models, so please invite any family or friends or acquaintances that are interested in modeling.
