focus: wildlife, bring your camera, good stories and ideas for an outing; group will discuss and chat over coffee
Notes: We spent about an hour drinking coffee and talking before we decided to go to the ELC to take wildlife pictures. We were quite lucky, as the ELC staff were taking several of the raptors out for fresh air. Expect to see a few pictures of raptors at the next meeting |

Notes: Any members interested in helping out should eMail or call Bob Babbs. If you are interested in helping set up the program, please let Bob know that also. He is planning a meeting for next week (1/25) to put together the "lecture" phase of the workshop, probably in a power point presentation, which he already has pretty much done. We need a big turnout for the Library Workshop as we want to provide a lot of "One on One" assistance for the public that attends. The initial meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday Jan 25th at my House. I will get in touch with directions for those that can attend. |

Camping Trip to White Pockets UT

There is one conflict on the Saturday with a School of Photography class.
Planning meeting at Cafe Vino on College Ave on Monday the 28th of March at 7 PM.
The items to discuss at the meeting are, but limited to
1. Drivers - we need 4WD vehicles for this trip due to sand roads
2. Dates
3. Camping arrangements -who is in what tent etc
4. Cooking arrangements - typically everyone cooks for themselves so we don't need to plan anything communal except stoves and water.
5 Photographic objectives -where will we be for sunrise/sunset shots.
The main reason for the dates is to arrive in the Page Arizona area not on a weekend so we can se if we can get lottery tickets for THe Wave. The Wave is only a few miles from White Pockets but access is limited via BLM lottery each day. The BLM office is not open on weekends. The camping will be no water, no facilities in the boodocks of north Arizona.
So the strategy is to do White Pockets and the Wave. If we can't do the wave we have an extra day to do the two Antelope Canyons just east of Page. I'd be happy to answer questions or see you all on the 28th.

(no fee) Sunset will be 8:33pm at 302.3 degrees. Someone has been breaking into vehicles that are left in the Coyote Ridge parking lot, so you might want to not leave anything valuable in your car. 1 mile walk up to nature trail through prairie dog colony where hawks, rabbits, coyotes, snakes and badgers frequent |
