Topic: "The Magic of Kaleidoscopes" by Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero
Do you remember being mesmerized by kaleidoscopes as a child? Why are they so captivating to us even as adults? And how can we tap into that magic with our own digital imagery? In this presentation, Jeanie will draw on more than a decade of experience creating kaleidoscope designs from her photos to explore:
- Various post-processing techniques to create kaleidoscopes from your photos
- What types of photos create the most eye-catching kaleidoscopes
- Creative ways to use your kaleidoscope images
Come prepared for a kaleidoscopic journey of possibilities and walk away with a new perspective on the photos in your own catalog.

Larimer County Fair - August 5-9 - at The Ranch in Loveland
We won't be going as a group, just go to the fair and take some pictures.
There are many things to photograph, fireworks, carnival rides, 4-H animals,
cowboy mounted shooting, rodeo, live music, ballet, step dancers, axe women, globe of death, Twiggy, Nature's educators, big legos, vintage tractors, dog hearding...

Landscape SIG - Sun 8/14 @8:30am - Boulder with your guide Ed Ogle
Boulder is an interesting place with lots to see and do. So, let’s do some photography there as a group. Some interesting places I know about include:
- Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse – This is actually a city park even though a concessioner runs it as a business. https://www.boulderteahouse.com/
- The Boulderado Hotel – I have taken photos here many times.
- The Boulder Public Library – out of this world architecture.
- The Turkish Lamp Store on Pearl Street – assuming it’s still there.
- The Boulder Shambhala Center – it has been closed recently due to Covid.
- Pearl Street – an amazing place
- Boulder Farmer’s Market – open 8-2 on Sundays this farmers market is more like a French market day – it’s huge and colorful, it’s Boulder.
And if that isn’t enough we could drive down to Elderado Canyon or go on a tour of the old cemetery and go for a short hike, but this might be best left for another day.
Meeting time 8:30 at JAX Outdoor Gear located at 2665 W Eisenhower Blvd, Loveland, CO near the South East corner of the parking lot. NOTE: There are two JAX stores in Loveland, this is the West store.
