Landscape SIG - Fri 6/25-Sat 6/26 - Paint Mines near Colorado Springs
The plan it to leave here early afternoon on Friday 25 June for the paint mines. Wonderful color. I am taking two and the plan is to find a motel so we can do sunset and the next day’s sunrise and come home. Contact Ken Eis if interested.

Landscape SIG - Wed 6/16 @7pm - ZOOM meeting to view Horsetooth Falls images taken by members in May and June. Contact Ken Eis if interested.

Macro SIG - Sat 6/5 @7am- Wildflowers at Andy Goris' property
Where: We live on 47 acres near the end of Redstone Canyon, west of Ft. Collins.  It’s 14 miles west of JJ’s gas station / Timberline and Harmony.
What: Take pictures of wildflowers – dozens of species, mostly in small groupings of flowers or individual flowers.  Due to the varied nature of the property, there are a number of different mini-ecosystems to explore, with different flowers and different backgrounds.   The flowers blooming are very similar to what you’d see at Lory State Park.  The difference is that here you don’t need to stay on a trail, and it’s OK to trim grass and weeds around the flowers for the best composition.  I’ll be helping people out and offering suggestions if you want to experiment with reflectors or flashes.
Last year I photographed 178 species of flowers here between April and September.  Only a subset of those are blooming at any one time. You can see my pictures from last year’s flower project here:   Redstone Flower Project - acgoris (smugmug.com) I gave a talk on this project to the FCDCC last year.
How Many: I can accommodate up to 6 photographers, so I’ll take the first 6 that email me at andy.goris@mindspring.com. If you can carpool, it will make parking easier to fit in our driveway. Let me know if you’re interested!
